About the Founder: Tom Phillips
In 1983 Tom Phillips, the company president, began working with complex merger and acquisition definitive agreements at LTV Corporation, an $8 billion conglomerate.
Later, as Vice President of Corporate Business Development at DSC Communications Corporation, a $1.4 billion high-tech telecom manufacturer, he managed the negotiation of definitive agreements for $500 million-worth of transactions on the buy and sell-sides.
He also led due-diligence teams in several departments, examining dozens of companies and maintaining a high level of cooperation among diverse departments. He reviewed hundreds of contracts for commercial pitfalls as part of the due diligence process.
Mr. Phillips was also mandated by the Chairman of the Board to manage and negotiate all other strategic agreements of the company. This resulted in contract negotiations for major OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) agreements relating to key high-tech products and exclusive distribution contracts and agreements (under which intellectual property changed hands.)
Mr. Phillips’ community involvement includes having spent seven years on the Board of Arts Incubator of Richardson (AIR), a non-profit organization working to obtain space for working artists in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, including four years as Treasurer.
